Gary Trent Jr agrees to 4-year deal to stay with Bucks

After betting on himself with a low-cost deal, Gary Trent Jr. has turned that gamble into a major payday.

The 27-year-old free agent guard has agreed to a four-year, $64 million contract to remain with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, who reported the deal was negotiated by Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton.

Trent initially joined Milwaukee on a team-friendly contract and proved to be a valuable floor spacer and veteran presence. His ability to knock down three-pointers, defend opposing guards, and fit alongside star talent made him a priority for the Bucks this offseason.

The new deal signals Milwaukee’s commitment to maintaining continuity as it reshapes its roster. Rather than allowing Trent to test the open market, the Bucks secured a long-term piece who has established himself as one of the NBA’s more reliable two-way role players.

At $16 million annually, the contract reflects Trent’s value as a proven starter-caliber wing entering his prime years while giving Milwaukee cost certainty over the next four seasons.
